Two Dead, Many Trapped As Two-Storey Building Collapses In Abuja
It was a scene of helplessness with people screaming and running helter-skelter, while the heavy rain continued, a multi-storey building had collapsed with many fared trapped.
Several people were feared dead and many others trapped in a multi-storey building, which collapsed in the wee hours of Thursday (today) on the ever-busy Lagos Street in Garki village area of Garki II district of Abuja.
SlyeNews gathered that the building housing many apartments, while the ground floor was full of shops.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) spokesperson Nkechi Isa confirmed the incident, saying: “The two-storey building which serves both residential and commercial purposes collapsed on Wednesday night. 37 persons were rescued alive, while 2 others were fatally injured.”
