Sultan Declares Saturday First Day Of Ramadan In Nigeria

For Nigerian Muslims, Ramadan fasting begins Saturday, as the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), led by its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III has declared the sighting of the new moon of Ramadan.
Sultan in his declaration speech said: “Tomorrow March 1st 2024 is Ramadan 1 1446 A.H. I urge all Muslims across this country to devote the full month of Ramadan to full worship of Almighty Allah. Engage in prayers for our country, our leaders and all the citizens”.
He also enjoined the rich to give out to the needy so that they can also enjoy the Ramadan fast.
