Millions of Sterling Bank customers nationwide are currently stranded as they are unable to make transactions on their accounts.
SlyeNews in an engagement with some of the customers who besieged a branch of the Bank in Ota area of Ogun State, Airport Road, Lagos and Abule Egba Branch, discovered that the several transactions are currently being trapped, as they could not confirm successful transfers until when physically present at the banking hall.
However, the large crowd discouraged many, who went back home disappointed.
The customers complained that they have not been receiving alerts, cannot withdraw through the Automated Teller Machines (ATM), and cannot also send money through the electronic transfers. The Apps are down, while the webpage is not also responding.
A top hierarchy staff of the Bank, who spoke to SlyeNews on condition of anonymity, said the problems was as a result of the current upgrade of the Bank’s systems, assuring that it would be restored in a few days.
Sterling Bank in an official message to its customers said: “We know how frustrating the disruptions caused by our system upgrade have been. We’re truly sorry and are fixing it. We promise to notify you once we are done,”
To compensate its customers, SlyeNews gathered that the bank opened for services today (Saturday) across its branches.
Meanwhile, Customers took a swipe at the bank on social media.
