The Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) has entered into a strategic mobility partnership agreement with the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, which entails the transportation of staff, clients and visitors of the College through the waterways from Mile 2 Terminal to the Institute by boats.

Speaking on the partnership, the Managing Director, Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY), Mr. Ladi Balogun, stated that the collaboration will mutually benefit the two organisations, stressing that it will also make the College easily accessible to staff, clients and visitors, who make use of LAGFERRY boats from numerous terminals/jetties.

He added that it will boost human traffic to the College, which has in recent times witnessed a downturn in patronage, due to the ongoing road rehabilitation along the Badagry Expressway, noting that the road leading to the institution is presently impassable and discouraging clients, who are mostly from outside Lagos.

His words: “The College whose mandate is to, among others, provide residential and non-residential qualitative management training for the development of senior executives for public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy is strategically located at Topo-Badagry, Lagos West and surrounded by water, which makes it easily accessible through boats. The journey to the institution via the waterways will eliminate loss of productive hours in traffic”.

“Other benefits of the partnership worth highlighting include the fact that LAGFERRY Boats are fast, very safe, timely and convenient. They are also eco-friendly with zero carbon emission, will enhance productivity and eliminate stress among others”, he added.

LAGFERRY has 20 state-of-the-art boats built to world-class standards with modern safety gadgets and regularly navigates through the waterways from over 16 Terminals/Jetties .

The Agency also ensures that standard life jackets are compulsorily worn by all passengers and crew, in addition to having online real-time GPS tracking to ensure the security of boats and passengers; free Wi-Fi, USB charging points, visual entertainment, well trained and certified captains and deckhands, as well as insurance cover for all passengers on every trip.
