Helicopter crash: Buhari condoles families of victims

.Ill-fated helicopter was coming from Port Harcourt to Lagos

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with families, friends and associates of victims of the Bell 206 helicopter operated by Quorum Aviation, which crashed into a building in Opebi, Lagos State.

 

Two people were killed in the ill-fated helicopter operated by Quorom Aviation, which crashed into a residential neighbourhood in Opebi, Lagos on Friday.

 

The helicopter which left Port Harcourt for Lagos, crashed into a residential building on No. 16, Salvation Road in Opebi, north of Lagos.

 

Buhari, in a condolence letter signed Special Adviser to the President, Femi Adesina, and made available to SlyNews said the nation awaits report of investigation into the accident by aviation regulatory agencies.

 

He said the president prays that God will console the bereaved families, grant peace to the souls of the dead and speedy recovery for the injured.

 

Also, the member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, James Abiodun Faleke has condoled with the families of the victims of the helicopter crash.

 

Faleke, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, also sympathised with the Lagos State Government on the unfortunate incident.

 

He however expressed delight at the fact that there were survivors of the clash with particular reference to the building which the helicopter crashed into.

 

LASEMA General Manager, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, had earlir confirmed that two persons died in the crash while another was injured and has been rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

 

The helicopter was carrying three people.
