The Federal Government has approved 14-day paternity leave for civil servants, to allow father’s play necessary role on thier newborn baby.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC), presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, gave the approval on Wednesday.
The head of civil service of the federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan disclosed this while briefing state house correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting.
Yemi-Esan noted that paternity leave like maternity leave will allow fathers to also properly bond with their newborn babies or adopted children.
