BREAKING: Sinking House Traps Nine People In Lagos

The heavy rainfall overnight has wrecked havoc in Ikeja area of Lagos, as a storey building gradually sinks with nine people being trapped.
SlyeNews gathered that the nine trapped ladies have been successful rescued.
The building, located at 47 Akinwunmi street, Akinwunmi North Estate Mende, Maryland. Ikeja, begun to sink in the early hours of today (Monday) after the rainfall.
The torrential rainfall which lasted about 4 hours in the early hours of the day flooded lots of communities in Lagos.
The Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos Office, Ibrahim Farinloye confirmed to SlyeNews that the team received a distressed alert this morning on a sinking storey building where nine people were trapped.
” NEMA advance team, after close observations, called for more reinforcement of personnel.
“Speaking with the trapped victims, the lady Ms Blessing disclosed that they are up to nine people mostly women.
“The landlord of the building had used ladder to escape but NEMA questioned him for failure to contact emergency responders. Someone from one of the trapped victim’s office contacted NEMA.
“Rescue activities have commenced. All the nine trapped ladies have been successfully rescued”, he said.
The agencies available for rescue operations are LASEMA, State Fire Service and Police Disaster Management Unit.
