Blue economy resource group debuts in Nigeria

The Blue Economy Resources Nigeria Coordinating Group will on Thursday 1st July, 2021, be inaugurated to promote adequate harnessing of the nation abundant water resources.
The immediate past Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside, will be inaugurating the group virtually on Zoom, on the 1st of July 2021 at 12 noon WAT.
The Executive Director/Group Secretary, Blue Economy Resources Group, Suleiman Adama, in a statement to SlyeNews said the group is a private sector driven initiative set out to bring the blue economy advocacy to the front burner of government and the organized private sector.
The Group is chaired by a former director with NIMASA, Hajia Lami Tumaka.
Other members are: Alhaji Munir Ja’afaru, (Madakin Zazzau); Ex-Director General, Nigerian Maritime Authority, Jean Chiazor Anishere; Mr. Temisan Omatseye, Ex-Director General NIMASA, Commodore Daniel Atakpa; Senator Grace Folashade Bent; Mr. Ojiji Oniri Onya; Alhaji Dikko Tahir Bala; Chief Michael Onuoha and Suleiman Adama, serving as secretary to the group.
Adama said members of the group are expected to use their individual and collective wealth of experience, both in government and the corporate world to move the blue eeconomy sector forward through the promotion of dialogue, strategic partnerships, capacity building in maritime policy/law, infrastructure development, community inclusiveness, environmental management and related challenges.
