Nigerians can now enjoy improved healthcare services, as the Ahmadiyya Muslim Hospital upgrades with new technological facilities that would enhance service delivery.

This is even as the hospital enters into partnership with Lagos State Government to deliver free treatment on tuberculosis and HIV.

Chief Medical Director, Ahmadiyya Muslim Hospital, Dr Samiulla Tahir, during a media tour of the facility in Ojokoro, Lagos, said the hospital is currently operating telemedicine with its hospitals being digitally synchronized.

“Over the years, we have kept improving. Now the specialists on our panel are cardiologist, gynecologist, pediatrician, journal surgeon, orthopedic surgeon and physiotherapists, and opticians for the eye clinic. Apart from that we have now acquired some new instruments,” he said.

We do nominal charges, but for those who are unable to pay, we give them free services,” he said.

Tahir said the hospitals will continue to improve as more sophisticated equipment are being expected soonest.

“We still have a lot of grounds to cover, so I can’t say that we have covered everything, but what we are proud of is that, in our own capacity, we were able to satisfy the community, the needs of the community, what the government could not do, we are able to do that in our own capacity” he said.

According to him the outlook of the hospital in Ojokoro was upgraded recently, as the roof was changed and the environment improved upon.

He said “Apart from the infrastructure changes, we have introduced some new departments which are; Cardiology, Gynecology, and Physiotherapy.

“Now, all our medical services have been synchronized. We now have a software that can link us to what is happening in Canada. We can have assess to what is going on there, compare notes and services. The same thing with Ijebu-Ode, Apapa, Ojokoro and others.” He said.

According to him, Ahmadiyya has hospitals established in all the geo-political zones of the country. The centres are recognised by UNICEF and WHO for quality health care delivery.

Ahmadiyya has hospitals in Apapa, Ojokoro, Ijebu-Ode, Kano (three facilities), New Busa. Owerri will soon bounce back to serve the South-East region. The group has total of 162 hospitals across the world, which have now been synchronized.
