The Nasirul-lahi-l-fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) has equipped over 73 students with latest computer skills unders it’s NASFATEEN SCANCODE scheme.
The six-week training programme covers developing skills in robotic, coding and artificial intelligence, among others.
Speaking at the project competition/prize giving ceremony in Lagos, NASFAT Education Secretary, Dr. Rahmot Adetutu Adisa, said the programme is one is of the cardinal focus of NASFAT HELD initiative, to promote healthy competition for Muslims students among school children.
She said it is hightime Muslims started hunting for talented children for mentorship and encourage them to build a career and become future professionals.
Noting that any society who wants to be reckoned with on the global stage must be grounded in technology to grow development, she said NASFAT is determined to breed new generation of Muslimah who will be professionals and relevant in the fourth industrial revolution.
She encouraged the young ones that they can be successful in their chosen career without limitations as Muslims, if they are determined with required skills.
President, NASFAT, Alhaji Niyi Yusuf, said the organisation started as asalatu (prayer session) with a mission to produce an enlightened society, hence it takes education as priority.
Yusuf, who was epresented by the Vice-President II, NASFAT, Prof AbdulRafiu Adegbola said technology is important to human endeavours, adding that artificial intelligence, coding and robotic are trading now and Muslims must key into it.
He congratulated the pioneer participants and enjoined them to make good of the knowledge and train others,
A Software Engineer, Mr Sodiq Olanrewaju Akanmu, enjoined the young ones to key into latest digital technology to prepare them for a bright future career.
He disclosed that the computer programing skills provide better job opportunities and higher earnings, adding that the profession is devoid of gender barrier, age or race barrier.
Chairman of the event, Alhaji AbdulWaheed Adeyinka Adeola, said Muslims have no reason to lose out in the fourth industrial revolution technology skills.
“Your generation has the opportunity to take your rightful place in the fourth industrial revolution” he said.
He enjoined the students to take up the opportunity and further equip themselves to be relevant in the new technology revolution.
