11Plc Restates Commitment To Safe Operations

11Plc, a major oil marketing company has expressed its commitment to safety, health and security of its operations in a conducive environment.
Speaking at the company’s yearly emergency response drill 2023, as part of it’s SSH&E week in Lagos, the Managing Director, 11 Plc, Tunji Oyebanji, said safety is a major factor that cannot be compromised by the company, as it upgrades its facilities yearly to ensure adequate safe operations.

He said: “Safety is our most critical area. We consider safety first and whatever we do, we take safety as our priority.
“Many people believe in blind faith and hope instead of putting in place necessary measures to reduce risks and manage safety,”.

Oyebanji said the safety exercises was to prepare the mind of its workers in case of any emergency, adding that it also provides an opportunity to test and upgrade their equipment.
“These safety exercises are to prepare our minds in case of any emergency. If you don’t do it regularly, people will relax that nothing will happen and they become very lethargic. Besides, it gives us an opportunity to test our equipment and facilities to ensure that they are working perfectly,” he said.

The 11Plc boss also said the exercise makes the company to maintain its cooperation with necessary stakeholders, so that they can jointly tackle any arising incident.
Manager, Safety, Security, Health and Environment, Ugochukwu Diwe, said the company trains its safety officials frequently to upgrade their skills and prepare them for any unexpected emergency.
He said the company is equipped with five million liters water tanks, five water pumps, ambulances and over 150 surveillance cameras, among others.

Representatives of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Ladi Badmus, said, “the standard of emergency response has been raised and we commend 11Plc on that development. We are not disappointed, because we know 11Plc for the standard”.
Other officials of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Federal and Lagos State Fire Service among others who witnessed the drill applauded the company for the perfect coordination and significant improvement in safety measures.
